1. Captivated by the Cross (Gal. 6:14a)
– 1 Corinthians 1:17-18—the power of God to saved (not lost only)
– 2 Corinthians 5:14 – made a prisoner (slave) by the love of Christ

2. Weaned from the World (Gal. 6:14b)
– Matthew 13:7,22—the cares of this life
– 2 Timothy 2:4 – ‘entangled’ – tentacles of culture (like octopus)
– Song: “Spoken For” by Mercy Me
– Song: “This world is not my home…”

3. Ruled by a Relationship (Gal. 6:15-16, 18)
– 2 Corinthians 5:17—a new creature in Christ
– Thankfully, this point isn’t ‘Ruined by Religion’ – Saul nearly was!
– Religion – relationship w/ church & rituals (externals)
– Real, personal relationship w/ Jesus: peace, mercy, & grace

4. Scarred by Service (Gal. 6:17)
– Mark 1:16-20—the cost of discipleship
– Luke 14:26,27,33 – count the cost (3x’s – if…cannot be…)
– Salvation is free, discipleship is costly
– Song: “Jesus paid it all… all to Him I owe”
– Deut. 15:16-17 – choosing to serve out of love – marked by the master (a difficult task for both bringing them closer)
