Everything important can be summed up in one word: relationships. In hospital rooms, on deathbeds, and in funeral homes… you don’t find serious talk about careers and portfolios. No, it’s all about relationships. Memories, vacations, family, friends, high school buddies, children, and church – these are the valuables of life. This is what life really is. Everyone we touch, everyone who touches us. Relationships.

BALANCE
Each one of your relationships should be balanced. They are built with the assumption of a certain give and take, benefit and expectation. Privilege and responsibility. We are blessed, yet we must be the blessing. This is, in large part, what we are accountable to God for: our stewardship of relationships.

Please consider the balance of the following relationships in your life:

1. by Birth – Exodus 30:12; Deut. 27:16 – parents (biological, foster, or adoptive) and siblings

2. by Marriage – Genesis 2:24 – spouse and children

3. of Friends – Proverbs 18:24; John 15:13

4. Adopted…of God – John 1:12; Gal. 4:5-6; Ephesians 1:3-6, 11-12; Romans 8:15-17 – eternal, spiritual family

5. at Church – 1 Timothy 5:1-2; Hebrews 10:23-25 – local, like-minded believers

Be committed to these relationships. Show agape love to others. Search for new ways to build and encourage old relationships and to create new ones. You’ll be glad you did & God will be glorified!
