A. The Invitation
- Open – Revelations 22:17
- Universal – Romans 10:13
- Rewarded – Psalms 55:22 – “He shall”
B. Our Hesitation
- Fear – Psalms 34:4 (Man hanging off cliff)
- Worry – I Peters 5:7 – Cast
- Doubt – II Corinthians 5:7 – By faith –not by sight
God wants you to know His Freedom (verse 20)
- Get out of the past – Philippians 3:13 – forgetting
- Get into God’s purpose – Romans 8:28 (Bill Borden)
Come – surrender – commit
Don’t let fear, worry, and doubt hold you back!!
September 22, 1862, Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation; January 1, 1863 – made effective as law; As of 1865 –word hadn’t reached Texas – 250,000 slaves, dozens of years later – slavery was still an issue (small pockets) of masters held control over their slaves. Slaves feared to leave – worried about their future, doubled the law – they died in slavery…
